CHOLESTEROL DIET SECRETS
People with high cholesterol already run the risk of having their arteries being blocked by cholesterol plaques. Therefore, they should avoid aggravating the situation through smoking. Smoking damages blood vessels and over time causes the vessels to degenerate. The chemicals in tobacco smoke also increase the build-up of plaque in artery and promote blood clot. Damaged vessels, coupled with clogging, slow down the blood flow so badly and this could trigger a stroke, a heart attack or cause organ damage. Smoking also complicates diabetes (if blood vessels in the kidneys are damaged) and high blood pressure/hypertension (if a major artery is blocked). Frankly, there is not one valid reason to smoke at all. Smoking causes premature death for at least 430,000 Americans each year, and many more millions die worldwide. Smoking adds to our daily expenses and increases our medical cost. Smoking creates many painful conditions for our body. A recent population study has shown that at least 30% of smokers suffer from lung damage, a condition that is very painful let alone expensive to treat (can you imagine how life would be like to feel painful every moment, with every breadth, and yet you cannot stop breathing!) So who do you know among you who is suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and who is smoking? These conditions make up the perfect formula for disaster. Please ask him or her to stop smoking immediately or seek help to kick the habit, at all cost.
